“I was born in a poor family in which my parents were always in disputes, they didn’t work together and they didn’t care about their children.

At 19 years old, I decided to get married in order to survive. My husband was a good man but without income however he loved me and helped me.

Since I was a child I have never had the opportunity to go to school, I never learned a single letter. This made me live in ignorance where I could not do useful work because I did not know how to read or count. I was afraid to travel long distances, I was afraid of banks and I even felt shame when I went to pray because I couldn’t read the Bible! I had no peace in my heart.

Fortunately, I got information that Azizi Life is helping people like me to study in my village, I took advantage of that opportunity. I didn’t just learn reading and writing but I also leaned about health, development, the environment, people and human rights.

Today, I am able to help my children in their studies, I got a bank account which helped me to save and soon I will apply for a credit to improve my livestock. I have understood about the need for health insurance and I pay on time. You can’t imagine how I use my phone, it is amazing!!

In the few days I have been reading, I have come to realise that it is difficult to make progress in ignorance. It seems to me that I was born again”
