Abadacogora Cooperative
People who never give up Cooperative
Established 2020
Abadacogora was formed by 11 older ladies together with other 11 youth who knew how to make bowls and Sutton baskets with the skills learned from their parents and passed down through the generations. These weavers were working independently in their homes and were inspired by another group who was working with Azizi Life. They decided to work together and leave domestic-based craft for market-based craft-making because the Azizi Life partnership would bring income, market access, support and a commitment to faith in Jesus Christ
Abadacogora knows they will be successful because of the wisdom of its members, their friendships and good standards of conducts. They live together in a same village, Nyaburandwe, and have a chance to learn other crafts like making baskets or baby mobiles from neighboring groups.
With hard work, strong financial management and prayers, Abadacogora will be successful and sustainable.
