Abadahigwa group was born through the Abibumbye group.

Initially we have been working as Abibumbye cooperative which was kept recruiting many members due to the extended orders we received {Said by Genevieve}. However, even thought they were kept receiving and making the orders gotten from various customers, they were formed two different parts based on their skills whereby one side were highly talented on Balls balls, Various palm leaf products in different designs and the other sides were skilled in Sisal Woven. like Woven pots with Lids in different size and designs, Woven bowls in different sizes, designs and colors as well as the Sutton Baskets.

Not only the skills sharing but also the distance from where everyone was living, as I said from the start, one side was living far apart the other. Where, we see similarity skills were Neighbours and the other side of similar skills were also closer to each other.

And once upon the time, the group itself decide to split the cooperative into 2 different cooperatives instead of keeping them as one. And that is how the Abadahigwa group was born.

The Abadahigwa are not consider themselves as the group instead they consider themselves as the family which was the same slogan initiated from their birth and lucky you will find many relatives into that group. They aim to work together, learn together and grow together. The elders wish to see their youngest grow and teach their siblings as a way of preserve the cultural generation to generation
