Icyizere Cooperative
Hope Cooperative
Icyizere “Hope” is a group of 16 women weavers located in Shyogwe, Muhanga district. They have a common goal of using their hands to fight against poverty and standing together to develop their families and community. They learned sewing, pints making, pearls beautification and weaving but they decided to reinforce bowls and trivets weaving because of the opportunity to work with Azizi Life. With help granted by Azizi, Icyizere Shyogwe became more organized; members’ skills improved and they got market for their products.
For a developing family, Icyizere members wish that each woman might struggle for self-reliance, because she is the node of family. The group has a dream to build their own weaving center which will train young girls.
Azizi Life has contributed in their community through the Adult Literacy program which opens opportunities for those who didn’t get chance to attend school.
