‘If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you’ James 1:5
The Azizi Life team wish you all a Happy New Year! A new year heralds the start of new opportunities, and there are many to pray for in 2018. Please join us in thanking God and lifting up this new year to Him.
January sees the start of the new school year, so please join us in praying for students across Rwanda as they begin their studies. Pray that schools will continue to prepare the leaders of tomorrow to take Rwanda forward and build up this beautiful nation.
The start of the school year can often be a troubling time for parents as they try to find the money for school fees. Please pray for help for those struggling to pay school fees for their children.
UBI (Azizi Life Impact Projects)
We thank God for the donations raised from Giving Tuesday campaign at the end of November for the Adult Literacy Program.
Please pray over the selection of a new cohort of students, and that no one drops out during the year.
Later this month there will be teacher training for staff in ‘Financial Literacy’. Pray that they learn all they need and are then able to teach that to the artisan groups.
We praise God for Leah, a newly contracted member of staff. Being contracted means that she will have a more secure form of employment that will help provide a more sustainable income. Please pray for good management of finances so that she can better support her family, as there are many needs that she helps cover.
You may remember last month in our prayer update that we mentioned the possibility of a new shop, a ‘Beeutiful Boutique’, opening in Kigali in the near future. Discussions are still on-going. Please pray for negotiations, that they will go well, and that this will turn out to be a successful location. We hope that this new location will increase sales on a monthly basis, and therefore provide more opportunities and income for the suppliers and artisans that Beeutiful works with.
Harvest time is coming up for the beekeepers. Pray that all the hard work and training that has been put in will come to fruition.
AZIZI LIFE CRAFTS AND ARTISANS
Please pray for sales over the next month, as historically, January has been a slow month. It would really help the artisans if more income could come in especially at this time because of the afore mentioned school fees that are due.
AZIZI LIFE EXPERIENCES
Last month we thanked God that Chantal, who coordinates the Azizi Life Experiences, had a smooth delivery and that her baby girl was healthy. Please pray that Chantal continues to make a good recovery during her maternity leave and that her baby will grow and develop as she should.
AZIZI LIFE US
Christi has had a predictably busy time over the Christmas period in the States, and has had many successful engagements and sales. We thank God for this, as well as partnerships that have been strengthened. Please pray for her safe return to Rwanda during the middle of this month.

Azizi Life partners with over 25 independent groups in Rwanda - over 400 artisans... and growing! Rising from the horrors of genocide, artisans from all backgrounds have joined together once again through their art. With their fair trade income, parents are caring for the health, nutrition, and education of their children. Families are building better homes. Women are rising out of crippling dependency to become contributors in their communities. Our artisan partners have a vision to be leaders for wholeness in their community, and we are privileged to partner with them.
Azizi Life offers a range of products skillfully crafted from locally-sourced, natural fibers such as sisal, banana leaf, and forest grasses. Our line of baskets highlights some of the best of Rwandan traditional and modern design. Artisans and designers collaborate to create new designs and products in our lines of baskets, home goods, and holiday décor.
Azizi Life is a faith-based social enterprise in Rwanda committed to sustainability, collaboration, and putting people first – artisans and customers alike. Founded in 2008 under the international NGO Food for the Hungry, Azizi Life has become a bridge to connect hardworking artisans to the global market. In addition to flourishing sales in Rwanda, Azizi Life offers products to US customers from our warehouse in Spokane, Washington, as well as FOB sales directly from Rwanda.
